To all those underage and awake…
by Londo111 ini salute you.. when i was in, i was a brainwashed idiot.
it instilled an arrogance and made me part of a community that contributed to your suffering.. i remember when i would see a jw parent drag their teens to the meeting.
some of these parents had converted recently, some had been some years.

If you are still in the organization, do you enjoy the meetings ?
by Iamallcool inrate it from 1 to 10. thanks!

I would rate it as 1. But only because it is sometimes fun to point out in my mind all the ludicrous things they say and to pick apart all the fallacies they use in their talks. Otherwise it would be a zero.

Kids continue to leave in droves - so what is the organization's grand plan? This
by sir82 injws have one of the worst, if not the worst, retention rates among their kids.
i've seen numbers from 65% to 88% who leave, never to return.. you'd think this would be a priority amongst the leadership, right?
where do tomorrow's leaders come from, if the vast majority of kids leave the organization?

Oh yeah, there was another one of those videos during the convention, where a young man is incredibly talented at the violin and wishes to pursue a career in the thing he loves, but then his father tells him that going to the Gifted class would only make him worldly and competitive. Giving up the one thing you love in favor of the organization seems to be a trend in these videos.

slimboyfat joins the Mormons!
by slimboyfat ini know that some people on the board have experience of being mormons, so i would be interested in your feedback.
at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.
in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.

Ugh, I sure hope not. All those videos are so cringey, I'd rather see an actual demonstration than some silhouettes awkwardly having a monotonous conversation about jeebus -

How did you feel when they eliminated the Con. Book Study?
by Freeandclear inyears ago when i was "in" i loved the book study.
it was my favorite meeting by far.
mainly because it was a small group.

I think I was about 9 or 10 when they took away that meeting and Tuesday's (Along with "Goody Night", not sure how many congregations did that but I was devastated when it was removed. I guess we weren't enjoying the food in the name of the lord or something). I was glad to have a free night, but not-so-glad when we suddenly were required to sit for an hour and listen to the bible anyway, in the form of Family Worship. In a way Family Worship is even worse than going to the meeting for an hour and doing the book study. But that's just me. -

Hello Everybody
by Thomas the Bill Engine ini didn't see an introduction forum anywhere but i thought it would be weird to start posting without first introducing myself so, here we are.
i'm 15, and i've been looking for a place to discuss my thoughts on the religion that i'm pretty much stuck in at the moment.
my mom and dad divorced over their different beliefs over a year ago (my mom is jw and my dad is an very knowledgeable apostate, so you can see how they would fight over it), and since then i've stopped believing altogether.. just thought i'd say hello.

Thanks everybody! In reply to Village, I'm living with my mom, she makes me and my sisters go to the meetings regardless of what I say about it. My two sisters (9 and 11) don't really believe either, but it's mostly because they're bored, not for real reasons. I can't wait until I'm old enough to leave and seek my own beliefs instead of accepting the ones that have been pounded into my head since birth.
Again, thank you guys! ^^

Just thought I'd say hello. I hope I can find some friends here who understand.
